Un posto in South Africa[27-9-1996]UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN We invite applications for this post for appointment from 1 January 1997. The University of Cape Town is looking for an established scholar in Italian Studies, with research and teaching interests in Modern and Contemporary Literature and Literary Theory. The ability to teach Italian language and an interest in Language studies or historical and cultural studies would be good secondary prerequisites for the post. The appointee will take a substantial role in implementing the present curriculum in Italian Studies and reviewing it when necessary. Fluency in English as well as native speaker proficiency in Italian are essential in this position. The post of Senior Lecturer is a senior one, just below that of Associate Professor (or "Associato") and for appointment at that level, a candidate should have a PhD or equivalent academic qualification. Whether the appointment will be contractual (3 years) or permanent, as well as its level (Lectureship "ricercatore" or Senior Lectureship) will depend upon the quality of the appointee.
