ASSOCIATE LECTURER IN ITALIAN (LEVEL A/NON CONTINUING) Applications are invited for a fixed-term lectureship in Italian (Level A) in the Department of Modern European Languages. The major responsibility of the appointee will be teaching Italian language courses and some degree of co-ordination of particular units of the Italian Program. A person of native or near-native competence is required, with qualifications and experience in language teaching. Research and teaching interests in language studies or in aspects of contemporary Italian society would be an advantage, as would completion or near completion of a higher degree. From time to time, the appointee may be called upon to convene the entire Italian Program, consequently a person of native or near-native competence is required with qualifications and experience in language teaching and/or applied linguistics, and a demonstrated capacity for co-ordination and administration at tertiary level. Research and teaching interests in language studies and/or applied linguistics is essential. Some knowledge of, and interest in, aspects of contemporary Italian society or literature would be an advantage, as would the capacity for supervision of postgraduate studies.
